Triad Business Journal Profiles Omega Construction CEO, Paul Covington

February 12, 2015, 10:31 pm

The Triad Business Journal did an Up Close profile of Omega Construction CEO and Founder, Paul Covington.

"Paul Covington had little construction experience when he founded Omega Construction in 1975 at age 27. The company grew to about 18 employees, focusing mostly on hospitality and retail work, before revenue losses due to the Great Recession nearly forced the general contracting firm to shut down.

But in what Covington calls a “heaven-sent” deal, he merged Omega Construction with the management, superintendents and project managers of the former John S. Clark Co. — a Mount Airy construction firm founded in 1958 that shut down in March 2012.

Now, nearly 40 years after Covington began his business, the combined team has broadened Omega’s portfolio of work to include industrial and warehouse construction. Omega generated $19.6 million in 2012 revenues and landed at the No. 4 spot of the Triad Fast 50 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the region."
